Emmaus Partnerships to Change the World

Faith without works is dead. Tough words, but true. Part of the reason Emmaus exists is to encourage each of us to search out opportunities to change the world for God. Here are some of the opportunities we are currently pursuing together.

Naigobya

In late 2006, Emmaus created a partnership with this little village in east Uganda. We like to say that we are “saving” the village, but the fact is that we are learning as much or more from the Naigobyans as they do from us. Our community has banded together to bring clean water, sanitation, and a health clinic to the village. We are also providing funds for development of christian leaders for the Naigobya church.

Philippines / Gentle Hands

In 2009 Emmaus sent Christmas gifts to Gentle Hands, an orphanage in the Philippines. It was great to see the community rallying around bringing the light of Christ and the joy of Christmas to these little ones. We are currently exploring this relationship.

Life Group Projects

All Emmaus Life Groups are encouraged to find a way to change their world, whether serving together in a soup kitchen, Help the person next door, adopt a soldier, or whatever.
