I'm New to Emmaus Road
everyone has a past...

As a church plant of Westwood Community Church in Chanhassen, Emmaus Road was birthed on Easter Sunday 2005.
Unlike most church plants which move farther out to newer, growing suburbs, Emmaus chose to be a voice
for the risen Savior in Hopkins, St. Louis Park and surrounding areas. Starting with 50 adults,
a lot of the first year was spent getting organized and seeking God’s vision for the church.
2006 saw a doubling in size and affiliation with the Evangelical Covenant Church.
In July, 2006 we held our first "24", our annual event of 24 hours of prayer. 24 has become a highlight of our year.
In 2007, we moved to Eisenhower community center. This enabled us to have more time each Sunday to meet and connect as a community.
In August, 2008, Craig Case, our founding pastor decided to leave Emmaus.
In February, 2009, the congregation voted to begin the search for a new pastor by voting on the current search committee.
Due to remodeling of Eisenhower, we moved to Hopkins High School for June, 2009.
In July, 2009, we moved into a more permanent home, to a church building owned by Ascension Lutheran in St. Louis Park.
In April 2010 our new pastor, Kevin Johnson, came to Emmaus.
