Announcements 7.25.13

Financial Update ]

We’ve raised $5700 of the $12,500 we need above and beyond our normal giving to finish our fiscal year on July 31 without spending our modest savings. Thanks for your generosity and attention to giving as we  press on into August and beyond! If you would like to enroll in automatic giving, contact Judy Ewing (judyewing96@gmail.com).

Buy a Backpack–or a Bunch! ]

A great tradition returns of providing backpacks to our community kids. We aim to donate at least a hundred school bags through PRISM—but the need is almost unlimited. A special connection lets us purchase $30 packs for a mere $5, so we’re focusing on packs rather than supplies to multiply our impact six-fold! Make checks payable to Emmaus Road Church with “BACKPACK” in the notation! Deadline to give is August 1.

Women’s Retreat Planning ]

The women’s retreat is October 11th-13th. If you are interested in planning the retreat, please join us for a lunch meeting Sunday Aug 4 after worship at Big Ten. Any questions or for more information, contact Stephanie (smdeiss@gmail.com).

Men’s Breakfast ]

The guys gather for coffee and conversation at 6am on Friday Aug 9 at Brueggers on Excelsior and Hwy 100 in St. Louis Park.

[ Yet More MAYHEM ]

Got Keys? ]

The Emmaus band needs electronic keyboard to use in worship. If you have one you can lend or donate, check with Monika Hubka (monika.grefe@gmail.com) or Lori Penzien (lpenzien@comcast.net).

We’d love for you to like us on Facebook, where you can catch breaking news about the Emmaus community and share our upcoming events and messages with your friends.
